Big Tim Channing, a powerful aging gangster, raises newspaper boy Dan Mason as if he were his son. By the time Dan begins to grow up, he becomes a law student with Channing's illegal help. Dan wants to break with his criminal background when he falls in love with Fern Fellows. This brings him into conflict with Channing.
