Pesce does try and comes sporadically close to the first part in terms of atmosphere, but The Tribe is inferior to The Lost Boys in everything. This is expected of course, but you still wonder why certain choices are made in modern horror films. Like the accelerated images, what a terribly atmospheric affair that is. Less is often more and many directors overlook that, unfortunately.

2.5*

Bought this DVD at a flea market. Not a good movie. Characters are all annoying and have no charisma or any depth.

The story is stupid and meaningless. The special effects are nice, but very limited. The amount of blood that would be shed, what I read here, is not that bad. I know many more intense films with 'gore' than this one.

This is minimal.

Really watch it once, if you DEFINITELY have nothing to do as a horror fan. Then throw it away.

Really doesn't add anything to Schumacher's original (3.5*), which is what one would expect from a sequel. Corey Feldman is back as a vampire expert, but a late thirties reprise of a teenage role looks terrible. Every self-respecting actor is in more mature and challenging roles at that age. The rest of the cast sucks. Never heard of Hilgendinges It's nice to know that Kiefer Sutherland's younger half-brother Angus plays the main vampire this time. Not that he can continue acting like his brother. In addition to the rubbish story, it also appears that the makers of this rubbish do not know the definition of tension at all. It was later also felt necessary to make a third film.
