Seven events that seem completely unrelated at first sight are slowly but surely intertwined. An Indian chieftain calls on his people to stop performing the rain dance. He demands payment for the services, especially now that drought threatens the energy supply. A journalist argues with his wife about the kind of assignments he pursues. A homeless person collecting paper finds a package with contents. A TV maker is working on a documentary about Charles Ponzi, inventor of the pyramid scheme. A politician just keeps having lottery luck. A baby goes missing and develops a taste for money at an early age.
