La Danseuse plot
After her father's death, 25-year-old Marie-Louise leaves the West Coast and goes to her mother in New York to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. During a performance on stage, the "Serpentine Dance" is born by chance, a graceful movement. The audience is immediately captivated and Marie-Louise becomes Loïe Fuller and leaves for Paris where she is admired by, among others, Toulouse Lautrec and the Lumière brothers. The Electric Fairy becomes an icon and the burning symbol of a generation. But an encounter with the young, enchanting Isadora Duncan will disrupt her turbulent love affair with Louis and her complex relationship with her assistant Gabrielle, as will the very essence of her art.
