Charles et Lucie plot
Lucie was a singer in the past. Today she does the housework for pushy customers with a high libido, while Charles, her husband, drags herself from one illness to another, but in reality has a subterfuge to do nothing. He restricts himself to selling to his friend Léon actor's clothes, family portraits and souvenirs of his wife. But one day a solicitor's clerk informs him that he inherits from a distant American family a villa, a car and an additional annual income. However, there are a lot of inheritance taxes associated with that inheritance.
