Yeah, these are the comedies that I love. This is a typical 80s movie, but made today. The stereotypical 80s characters pass by, the story about a boy who has finished school and does not know what he wants is also nice and typical 80s.

What follows is a night full of celebration, humor and fun events. Together with the stunning love interest Teresa Palmer and his best friend Fogler, Grace (who actually just plays Eric Forman, but then a decade later) experiences a heartwarming evening that brings the 80s movies back to life. Including all kinds of great 80s hits that made me watch until the end of the credits.

Nice cheesy entertainment including all the clichés that go with it.

4*

ps not suitable for people with an apathy against this era (although it is not so bad in terms of fashion)

Pretty nice.

Not a movie you should expect too much from, it's a romantic comedy like there are quite a few. Some young adults (the real, graduate kind, not the core Hunger Games and whatnot fans) who go to a party and create some fuss about it. It's a modern Ferris Bueller so to speak.

The cast does a good job, there are enough successful comedic moments and the romantic plot is also sufficient. The film doesn't excel at anything, but it doesn't fail at all. A few funny bits and pieces keep it alive. Dowse also provides solid direction, where the pace never really disappears from the film.

It's a plot that writes itself, with an atmosphere that has already been done 100 times. Still, somehow it doesn't feel overly 80s. In terms of decoration, yes, in terms of direction it is more modern. That might make the difference for me. Not a great movie, of course, but I did enjoy it.
