This is a movie it is NOT. Weak authors, unstable story and certainly no horror. And nowhere, nowhere is it exciting or exciting. Was glad it only lasted 85 minutes. Apparently the maker didn't know what to do with it either.

Weak.

Moderate horror as far as I'm concerned, because there is really just too little atmosphere, tension and creepy stuff. I haven't seen the original Thai version yet, so I can't compare them to that, but seeing it that way I don't expect too much.

Taylor does play well, but she is also the only one who knows how to bring some charm with her role. Jackson seems to have a hard time getting the English out of his mouth at times, but Okina as the ghost isn't scary at all. She is sometimes too long in the picture which just makes it comical.

The scares just don't work either, only towards the end the film gets a bit of atmosphere. Everything before that is done pretty stupidly, not scary and the ghost just isn't scary enough to really scare you into pumping suspense.

A failed attempt at horror, Ochiai doesn't have to make this genre any time soon, because it looks like he just doesn't get it. This is just a failed attempt at atmospheric horror. Unfortunately.

Shutter

quite high score on moviemeter. I found this movie quite predictable. Had hoped for a scary ''Japanese'' extract, but again they fail to match them.

2.5 stars.
