Young at Heart plot

Laurie, Fran and Amy Tuttle are the three daughters of a music teacher. They live happily in a quiet, small town with their father and Aunt Jessie. All three are delighted when Alex, a humble young lyricist, moves in with them. Afterwards, Barney Sloane appears on the scene: a lonely, grumpy pianist full of self-pity. Barney falls in love with Laurie who, however, has a bean for Alex and decides to marry him. On her wedding day, Laurie realizes that Amy is also hooked on Alex.
