Bring It On: In It to Win It plot

"The Ultimate Cheer Off!"

Carson (Ashley Benson) is the captain of the West High Sharks, a cheerleading group. When Carson falls for a boy from the opposing team, a member of the East High Jets, it creates great tension. Brooke (Cassie Scerbo) is the captain of the East High Jets and wants a personal confrontation with Carson. This spiraled out of control and both teams were disqualified. Now that both teams are no longer allowed to participate in the championships, there is only one thing left to do: work together.

Well, what can you say about this. The film is abominably bad on almost every front. The dialogues are to cry, the characters are so typical that they all irritate and the script is also very broken. Especially that boy in the lead role who tells his parents that he is going to Vechtkamp, but actually prefers to go to Cheerleading camp is something to cry. I can understand that girls see a lot in this, but I certainly don't.

Fortunately we still have the beautiful/nice ladies in bikinis and Ashley Benson is also a feast for the eyes. As a result, I actually got through those 90 minutes relatively easily if you look at the quality of everything else in this film.

1,5*

hmm.

There is some improvement, certainly from the side of Rash himself. The previous part had to deal with the problem that there was little development in the team spirit. That makes this film good again, but now things go wrong again in the face. The types get repetitive and are used too often.

The acting is still nice from the young cast members. Not everyone is as young as the 2 lead roles (some of them hit 25 years old), but it's still fun to watch the really young and enthusiastic cast members. So you see that some actresses and actors deserve to break through.

For example, Benson and Scerbo are doing very well. Both are good in their roles, but it is a pity that these types of characters are used too much within the franchise (also outside by the way). The spoiled, screaming and annoying team captains are now too often exploited. So every time it just has to come from the acting itself and not from the characters.

For the rest, Rash still ensures that the film gets a sexual charge, but also really strives for this. The subtleties from parts 1 and 2 that were actually better applied are now nowhere to be seen, which unfortunately comes at the expense of the end result. The humor is also worse timed and especially not very funny anymore, the jokes are becoming outdated.

The "accidental" dance-offs in which the teams suddenly know entire lyrics and choreography all of a sudden also become a bit outdated. Doing this once in a while, go ahead, but every time is too much of a good thing. Incidentally, the dances are also broken, so it doesn't even want to make an impression on that level.

Fortunately, there is progress in terms of writing, although it is still short-sighted. But there is finally some development in it so that some scenes don't seem to be completely random. It hangs in the same level as all 3 previous parts. Sometimes improvement, sometimes a step back.
