Cristina Guzmán plot
Cristina Guzmán is a young language teacher. She is very similar to Mara, the wife of Javier Rivás - a man who belongs to a very wealthy family and suffers from an incurable mental illness that keeps him in bed. Javier's wife abandons him. Alfonso, the patient's brother, convinces Cristina to emotionally ease Javier's suffering by taking on the role of Mara. Its presence does indeed improve his health. But when Mara finds out about this, she decides to return.
