Five months after the birth of his son, it is still impossible for Mel Coplin to name his child. Only when he has met his own biological parents and he discovers who he really is, does he want to give a name to the child. Together with his wife Nancy and social worker Tina Kalb, he travels to California to meet his biological parents, but it turns out that Mel has been sent to the wrong address due to an administrative error. The search continues, but not without some complications.
