Bandolero! plot

"There are "Westerns" and "Westerns". Every now and then comes a NEW kind of Western. This is "BANDOLERO!"."

The year is 1867. A band of outlaws led by Dee Bishop, a former Confederate soldier, kills wealthy rancher Stoner during a robbery of the Val Verde bank in Texas. However, the gang is arrested by Sheriff July Johnson. They are tried and sentenced to death by hanging. Dee's older brother and ex-Confederate soldier Mace Bishop impersonates an executioner and stages a last-minute rescue of the five outlaws. They then flee across the Mexican border and take Maria Stoner, the attractive widow of the murdered rancher Johnson is in love with, as a hostage. Things get complicated for the outlaws when Johnson gives chase with a posse and they come into conflict with each other.
