Pfff.. what a waste of talent.
Couldn't all those top actors have done better with their time than this dull nonsense?
Only fun was Strange himself in the 1st half hour or so

Yet another Marvel superhero.
Disney and Marvel together, they have turned milking into an art form. In addition to films that bring all kinds of heroes together, they also keep introducing new heroes, which can then be nicely integrated into the combo films.
Doctor Strange seemed to be a little more special than the average Marvel movie and it was. Mainly visually, because the CG specialists at Disney have been able to do their thing here. It provides a number of separate scenes that give the film some extra flair.
But enough the actors do not succeed in that. Cumberbatch is really drake as Strange, his humor was really bad. McAdams is completely lost, I've also seen Swinton better in a crazy role and Ejiofor never manages to give his character some depth in a credible way.
Plotje is also a bit exaggerated, in less than 2 hours an entire origin story + show-down with the ultimate cross-dimensional bad-guy is a bit too much. But at least it happens in a funny neon dimension.
A shipwreck, yes, but one with some good points. That can't prevent the film itself from still falling short quite a bit, but it's still a step up from the average, duller Marvel stuff of the last few years.
2.5*
