Volga en Flammes plot

Lieutenant Orloff is assigned to the garrison of a fortress lost in the steppe over the Kazan. Along the way, he saves the life of a man lost in a snow storm. On the other hand, this man shows him the way to follow. Having come to good harbour, Orloff makes the acquaintance of Macha, the girl of the local commander, and falls in love with. Seduced by the officer, the officer abandons his former pretender, Lieutenant Schalin. Then a peasant revolt breaks out, led by an adventurer named Silatschoff. Orloff recognizes in him the person whose life he had saved. Soon the garrison is vanquished and Silatschoff must decide the fate of the prisoners.
