Akai Hankachi plot
Hardened cop Mikami, and his partner Ishizuka, try to catch a criminal who is hiding in the port of Yokohama. The criminal hides a secret briefcase at a small newspaper stand, then flees, only to get run over by a truck. While the police interrogate the stallholder, Mikami goes to his daughter. It turns out that the stallholder was a former shooter for the Japanese Olympic team. The stallholder refuses to talk, and when he is taken away by Ishizuka, he grabs his gun and starts firing at random. Mikami manages to kill the man, which infuriates his daughter. This turns out to be a huge problem for Mikami, as she was his girlfriend. In the scandal that follows, Mikami resigns. Four years later, Mikami is a real estate trader. One day, the police investigator Tsuchiya comes up with the strange story that his old partner Ishizuka suddenly has a lot of money.
