The Invisible City: Kakuma plot
The Kakuma refugee camp in the Turkana desert in Kenya is the fastest growing city in the Horn of Africa. The population is growing daily, among other things with children arriving without their parents. They were sent away by them from conflict zones, towards the relative safety of the refugee camp. The children seize every opportunity to build a new life and future in the camp. But is this possible? Belgian filmmaker Lieven Corthouts decided to stay in the camp for more than 4 years. He built up friendships and shared joys and sorrows with the residents. He captured the lives of some of them - all children and young people - on film.
