Revised with a view to what I'm going to see tonight.

Top Gun is a typical 80s blockbuster, especially thanks to the soundtrack you immediately imagine yourself in the 80s.

I only saw this movie for the first time over ten years ago so this is not a childhood sentiment for me. Although I can somewhat understand the popularity of this film, I still don't think this is a top film, but more a film with a plot that makes little sense and relies on the action and looks of Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis.

However, the images in the sky are beautifully portrayed if you consider that this was filmed thirty-six years ago.

The film somehow breathes a nice atmosphere and I understand very well that many people experience this film as a kind of guilty pleasure.

3 * stood and remain standing, looking forward to the sequel!

Never really was my hype at the time. I was a bit too young when it came out anyway, but when it ran endlessly in the 90s it never really went wild. Now I wanted to see him one more time while waiting for Maverick, but I will also let this one pass by for the time being.

What particularly struck me were the very strong visual images of the action scenes with the fighter jets. Especially for a film from 1986. Very well done and immediately the greatest asset of the film. For the rest, however, it is not very smooth. Tom Cruise, who as a womanizer lured the audience to the theaters, was one of the elements why this film was a hit.

Content-wise, on the other hand, very mediocre and how could it be otherwise very cliché. Atmospheric, but empty with some muscle rolling, unfortunately that's all it is.
