See No Evil: The Moors Murders plot
The story begins in 1964. Very young married couples David and Maureen Smith have a baby. When it dies of SIDS after six months, Maureen returns to her older sister Myra Hindley for more comfort, while David befriends Myra's husband Ian Brady. David and Maureen are unaware of the dark secrets that Brady and Hindley are hiding. In October 1965, David Smith witnesses a gruesome murder at Brady and Hindley's home. The victim is 17-year-old Edward Evans. After the murder, David is forced into the early morning hours to help clean the house of all traces. When he returns home and tells Maureen about the crime, she finds it hard to believe his story. In the morning, however, the couple goes to the police and Brady is arrested. Brady confesses to the murder of Edward Evans but now reveals that David Smith was a willing accomplice. The police eventually find incriminating evidence and quickly come to the conclusion that Edward Evans cannot have been their only victim.
