Smelye Lyudi plot

The story begins in 1939 with the outbreak of war and ends in 1945. The main character Vasya (Sergei Gurzo) is a country boy and jockey, who is more concerned with horse racing than world politics. Even when the Nazis invade his country, his life seems to remain the same. That changes, however, when a series of unforeseeable events causes both Vasya and his horse to become involved in the resistance movement.
