Put your mind to almost zero, don't place too much value on credibility and don't look for logic, then you might have a successful two hours with this action-packed but half-baked thriller. On paper, this story will probably have looked a lot better than the final result. A ramshackle script with some superfluous sidelines (the prime minister who turns out to be having an extramarital affair), bizarre twists and a curious ending are somewhat compensated by some exciting scenes.
The cast is not great. De Bouw in the lead role is a good actor but he couldn't convince me here (I think Mark Rutte would have been even better in this role), I remembered his film wife from Mega Mindy, Reeves plays the female American president but lacks any charisma for this . The bad guys are not very impressive with the low point being the fake driver of the prime minister who continues to laugh even in the most precarious situations and continues to post funny one-liners. The supreme villain is still adequately played by Godley, but as If you think for yourself, his motives and actions are completely ridiculous.. Only Vandermeersch as the hero's right hand is convincing.
Small enough because I was not bored, but in terms of level no better than an American B movie, and I had higher expectations of this. Oh, if only this film as a whole was as powerful as that beautiful, nice and cynical final shot.

Watched The Prime Minister with the idea of getting rid of it. That was my conclusion when I saw the credits appear... The Prime Minister starts well and is quite decent for an hour. If you look through the plot holes, you get quite an exciting movie. A film that can justify a 3.5* at the time. Unfortunately, it breaks down into a flat soufflé afterwards. I thought the direction, editing, tension and even the acting were quite ok. The traditional skewed shit should of course not be missing either, that is gradually becoming trite (and predictable).

What you get to see afterwards is horrifying. I suspect this is the result if Van Looy consumes alcohol. How does he manage to cobble together such an abrupt and sloppy ending? Did the money run out or something? Shame! It all goes wrong from the stabbing or the escape. spoiler maybe even cover it up, but what about the disappearances of Paul, Luc, Eva, that doctor, etc ...
as if that wasn't enough, there had to be a second plot twist at the end, even worse then the first. It didn't do the rating of the film any favors and the odds plummeted. 2.5* and a disappointment richer.

Very entertaining film and I wanted to know how it would end until the very end.

Unrealistic, but I don't care.

I read comments here about a rushed ending, and I kind of understand why people say it, but I didn't think the ending was rushed at all.

The ending consisted of a lot of separate scenes that showed everything and everyone how their storyline ended. I thought it was a very well finished ending. You went through it relatively quickly but it was just complete. Better than a lot of other movies.
