Atomic: Living in Dread and Promise plot

Seventy years ago, the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki showed how terrible and destructive the power of the atomic bomb is. In his powerful collage about the atomic age, Mark Cousins looks not only at the dead, but also at the living who benefited from medical applications of nuclear technology. He uses archival material from the British Film Institute, NASA and CERN, among others – kaleidoscopic images propelled by a new soundtrack by the Scottish band Mogwai.
