The Killing of John Lennon plot
"I was nobody until I killed the biggest somebody on earth."
Raised in Hawaii, in a rather poor environment, Mark Chapman develops into a young man full of latent aggression, which cannot be contained even by his Japanese-American wife. By visiting the local library, Chapman gets to know the protoganist from JD Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye, who turns against Phoneys. The discrepancy between Lennon's phrase 'Imagine no possession' and his lavish lifestyle then makes Chapman flip the plug. He decides to travel to New York to rid the world of Lennon.
