The Cats of Mirikitani plot
Jimmy Mirikitani, an 80-year-old Japanese-American artist, was born in California and raised in Hiroshima, but living on the streets of New York in 2001. Sitting alone on a drafty Soho street corner, he draws moody cats, depressing internment camps and the furious red flames of the atomic bomb. When neighbor and filmmaker Linda Hattendorf asks Mirikitani about his art, a friendship develops that will change their lives.
