Samâ Taimu Mashin Burûsu plot

Seven students from a local high school, divided into five members of the sci-fi club and two female members of the photography club, spend the days of their summer vacation in the shared clubhouse. Although the air conditioning works well, the device can only be operated with a remote control. One day one of the students spills Coke on the remote control and switches off the air conditioning. They decide to cool off at the local bathhouse, and when they return to their clubhouse later, they catch an unusual man leaving a strange device on his run.

Over 100 minutes of chaos, overly busy Japanese nerds, not the best CGI, and a minimalistic story... and yet it kept me interested. Wonderfully simple entertainment, without any message, which can really be placed in the category 'feel good'. Now I have a soft spot for time travel movies anyway, but the trick is to tell it this way, without it becoming boring or repetitive. This movie succeeded in that!

Yes, Japanese absurdity with a sophisticated edge.
