Raak Me Waar Ik Voelen Kan plot
Film about John Callahan (54), known in America for his cartoons. When he was 21, he had a serious car accident and was largely paralyzed. His outlet became drawing, not the easiest choice as he could barely use his hands. In a raw style, pen clutched between his hands, he draws himself completely drowsy. His accurate, often cynical and ruthless observations of fellow human beings cannot only count on acclaim. Protests and angry letters are regularly the result. John is proud of these protests but he doesn't understand. "Isn't it true what I see?" He says he was an "angry young man" for a long time who wanted to hold up people's hypocrisy like a mirror. This cynical side is just one side of the man who races through the streets of Portland with striking red-dyed hair and preferably bright orange sunglasses. He also writes beautiful, melancholic songs. He prefers to play the ukulele himself, something that takes a lot of effort. But that is entirely in his style.
