"The Life and Legacy of Richard Holbrooke"

Richard Holbrooke began his career in his early twenties in Vietnam, where he held a diplomatic position for six years. When he was only 24 years old, he was appointed by President Lyndon Johnson to a special team of Vietnam experts at the White House. He then made an impressive career in American foreign policy as an envoy to Morocco, Indonesia, Germany, Kosovo and Afghanistan. The icing on the cake of his career was the Dayton Agreement of 1995, which ended the war in the former Yugoslavia. As Deputy Secretary of State, Holbrooke played a major role in mediating between the warring parties.
