Aloysius T. McKeever is a bum who has an idea to get through the winter warm: to live in the house of a wealthy family who spend the winter in a warmer place. He squats the house of the millionaire O'Conner when he is out the door and also invites a newly met friend (a war veteran who has been kicked out of his house) to live there. Then the daughter of the house also joins them, as she has fled from school and, moreover, falls in love with the ex-soldier. What will happen when O'Conner comes home and finds all kinds of people in his house?

Nice feel-good film that is best enjoyed in December. 
The film starts off very nicely, the first scenes show how McKeever sneaks into the house, has to be very careful and that they also came to check in the evening. But when the rest of the characters move in, this interesting idea is unfortunately largely thrown overboard? It could have provided a few exciting scenes 
You actually just forget that they are not in their own house and I thought that was a small downside.
All the different characters together create a heart-warming atmosphere, as a viewer you just feel welcome to watch with them in that beautiful big house.
This Christmas classic is more than worth your time, in my humble opinion there could have been more in it, but the interplay of the actors and the atmospheric setting make up for a lot!

Mckeever is a drifter who squats in the house of the wealthy O'Connor every winter in his absence.
