"Captain Fifi...115 pounds of curses, crookedness and kisses!"

China, November 1941. American news photographer Johnny "Bugsy" Williams escapes from a Japanese prison camp and flees to Burma, where he meets the beautiful Chinese Haoli Young. Johnny is a pilot as well as a photographer and his friend Shorty McGuire urges him to join the 'Flying Tigers' in Kunming. He can make a small fortune filming the 'Burma Road', which the Flying Tigers keep shooting at, but Johnny sticks to Haoli.
