The Birth of Saké plot
Although sake is Japan's national drink and has become increasingly popular abroad, the 2,000-year-old drink is still shrouded in mystery. Located in northern Japan, Tedorigawa is considered one of the best sake brewers in the country. This 144-year-old brewery is home to a small but highly dedicated group of artisans who cut themselves off from the outside world for six months each year to create the best sake in existence: daiginjo. However, changing consumer preferences and declining numbers of committed employees are making it increasingly difficult to sustain this.
