Le Ciel Flamand plot
Monique runs a brothel with her daughter Sylvie on the border of West Flanders and France. Eline, Sylvie's six-year-old daughter, is fascinated by the mysterious workplace of her mother and grandmother, but is denied access to it at all times. A dramatic event jeopardizes the certainties in their lives and puts strain on family ties.

Sylvie [Sara Vertongen] runs a brothel with her mother and does her best to protect her daughter Eline [Esra Vandenbussche] from the dark sides of her work. But when Eline unexpectedly and unnoticed enters the brothel on her sixth birthday, she encounters a male client and disappears without a trace for some time. Her 'uncle' Dirk [Wim Willaert], in reality her father, finds her in an abandoned car. The police decide to investigate the case, but are openly critical of Sylvie's work. Meanwhile, Dirk tries to find out who is behind Eline's short-lived disappearance. Grim, psychological drama with strong performances is not recommended for parents who plan to ever bring their child into personal contact with Sinterklaas. Often difficult to watch, but very worthwhile.

Rather oppressive psychological drama about a little girl in the Flemish countryside who becomes a victim of her environment and the repercussions that has on the people around her. Not as impressive as Monsaert's previous film Offline (2012) but still entertaining enough.
