"Surf's Up" is based on the shocking revelation that surfing was actually invented by penguins. In this mockumentary, the crew will take the audience behind the scenes into the world of the World Cup surfing for penguins and especially highlight the new big star Cody Maverick.

original concept; one of the first 'live documentary' animated films to my knowledge. Reminds me a bit of the office 
well, the humor is good at times and can certainly measure up to the talent of pixar or dreamworks, but the graphics certainly aren't. Some characters also come across as very irritating, while the aforementioned usually respond to the cute.
What they have taken over well is the inclusion of a moral in the story.
Anyway, I had a good time with this animation film, and that's why I still deserved a 3*

Surprisingly, I think this is one of the better animated films.
The live documentary concept appealed to me, I was never bored during the film.
The whole surfing thing works really well with those penguins, a similar film with 'real life people' would have gotten on my nerves quickly.
