Kate is a talented but over-the-horse figure skater. Her skating partners are not good enough for her one by one, but she must and will compete in the Olympics. Doug is a tough kid who was a member of the United States ice hockey team during the 1988 Calgary Games. In the game against West Germany he gets so injured that he can never play in the national selection again. Then someone comes up with the idea of turning Kate and Doug into a figure skating couple...
