The bachelors in the remote Spanish village of Plan in the Pyrenees took matters into their own hands in the 1980s, following the example of an American western: with an advertisement they called on marriageable women between the ages of 20 and 40 to come to their village. The call provoked crowds of responses and a caravan of willing women. A few marriages resulted from the impressive three-day celebration, but the playful action did not relieve Plan from the problematic exodus. Hard work in the fields is still attractive to few women, no matter how impressive the view of the unapproachable Pyrenees is in both summer and winter. Director Carin Goeijers filmed the residents during their daily work at home and in the field and asked about their views on love and life. She alternates this present with beautiful historical material from the legendary women's caravan.
