"Under the surface of every life lies a mystery"
Stewart Kane is an Irish immigrant living in the Australian town of Jindabyne. When he goes fishing with three friends, they discover the body of a dead woman in the river. Instead of reporting this, they continue their fishing trip and only report it days later. However, Stewart's wife is deeply shocked by this indifference and tries to do everything she can to pay the girl one last respect.
