Giliap plot
The name Giliap is a nickname, coming from one of the many stories about the American gangster world. Gustav Svensson dreams of founding an organization just like the one he has read about. Gustav, better known as 'The Count', works at Hotel Busarewski in a small Swedish town. The hotel is marked by decay and degeneration; nothing is required of the staff. Gustav gives the nickname Giliap to a thirty-something who comes to work as a waiter at the hotel. De Graaf sees a possible partner in crime in the new waiter. The beautiful waitress Anna also works at the Burasewski. De Graaf is in love with her, but he doesn't show it. He feels inferior to her beauty, and the only thing that could compensate for it is money and power. But Anna wants something else - she wants to get away, look for something she thinks would be happiness and harmony. Meanwhile, Giliap, more or less against his will, becomes involved in De Graaf's 'gangster syndicate'. He recognizes the madness of it, but he doesn't want to leave: he is in love with Anna.
