Very moderate.

I sometimes complain that all those Shaw Bros. films are too similar, but the point is that when they try something different, it often turns out less successful than their core work. This film is no exception. It's not the first time I've seen Chang make a contemporary film, but it's not truly great.

Without the classic martial arts setting, it's a lot less fun. It all feels a bit awkward, the fights aren't particularly polished, and despite the short playing time, it still drags a bit too often.

It's nice to see Chang himself in a small cameo, but that's also pretty much the best part of the film, leaving the final scene aside. A mediocre film from Chang, a case of "stick to your last," I'm afraid.

1.5*

A mediocre sequel to the better Duel of Fists. The script and editing are messy, and the fights weren't very impressive. David Chiang and Ti Lung are always enjoyable to watch together, but they can't save this film. There's also a lot of harakiri, and we see Bolo Yeung with short hair and flashy sunglasses. Director Chang Cheh makes a cameo, also wearing large sunglasses.
