Bashing plot
"A hero to the world but shunned in her own country."
The film is partly based on true facts. The main character Yuko worked as a volunteer in the Middle East and was held hostage there for a while. After her return to Japan, however, she is not considered a victim. It seems as if society is turning against her. People start belittling and bullying her in all kinds of ways, even attacking her. The term 'bashing' refers to the violence she suffers, both emotionally and physically. When Yuko also loses her job, her social isolation becomes even greater. Only her father continues to support her. But when she loses him too, she makes a drastic decision.
