The Prisoner plot

After World War II, a cardinal is imprisoned for being a traitor to the new state. His interrogator is a sadistic man who pretends a friendship with the cardinal in order to let him speak freely. In this double friendship, months pass as the interrogator uses all sorts of ingenious tricks and atrocities to achieve his goal.
