Three seniors lose their pension money, which means that they no longer have a lot of money. One day they decide they have had enough. They make a plan to rob a bank. The only problem is they don't even know how to hold a gun yet.

Going in Style is a somewhat sluggish, light-hearted comedy that looks good, but doesn't stay with you.
It's all nice: no thigh chatter but still a smile now and then, no real tension but still you are curious how it ends and a number of protagonists who hardly challenge themselves.
Still impossible to hate thanks to a bit of cheerfulness and optimism from the characters, despite the deep shit they are in (and trying to get out of it with a bank robbery).

A wafer-thin plot in a friendly film that is based on the humorous bickering of the three old friends and the charisma of the three protagonists. Caine, Freeman and the delightfully grumpy Arkin can still play these roles in their sleep, but they do it perfectly (playing, not sleeping). Also nice to see Ann-Margret again; she turns out to be one of the few actresses for whom a face-lift has not led to a disastrous result, and she brings an infectious enthusiasm to this. I may have already forgotten about this movie tomorrow, but today I really had a great time with it.
