The Villain Still Pursued Her plot

"Good to the Last Drop...of the Villain...the Girl...or Maybe the Scenery!"

Widow Wilson and her daughter Mary live in a house mortgaged by old Mr. Middleton. After learning that Middleton has died, Silas Cribbs, the deceased's attorney, comes by. There they learn that Middleton's son and rightful heir Edward wants to take the house from them. When Mary pays a personal visit to Edward, hoping to convince him, it turns out that Cribbs is the instigator of it all. When Edward and Mary find each other and even get engaged, the calculating Cribbs has a new plan. He encourages Edward to drink and soon he is heavily addicted to alcohol. His relationship with Mary threatens to come to an end because of this.
