Okay.

Something more stylish romantic event. Not the usual Hong Kong lightheartedness, but this is a mainland (China) movie. The usual slick hipness again, I think we'll hang on to that for a few more years, but under that layer of shine is still a nice film hidden.

Visually very neat, fine light and color work and nice and modern looking. Soundtrack is the usual string and piano thing, the plot can also be guessed. It's a shame that this film apparently got a bit too close to its Japanese brothers, although this time it's not the protagonists themselves who get sick, but next to family.

I prefer Peng in a martial arts role and Qi is a bit underused, but there is enough chemistry between the two to keep the romance alive. Furthermore, a film that does not deviate much from the well-trodden paths, it is especially skilfully presented.

3.5*

Shu Qi and Eddie Peng reunite in this “thirteen in a dozen” rom-com. Director Luo Luo starts the film very nicely, but gradually the clichés are strung together. In my opinion, the imposing skyline of Shanghai should have been used more often as a backdrop.
