Het Verloren Paradijs plot

The construction of a motorway is planned in a fictitious Flemish village. Mayor Benjamin Rolus is a loner who lives secluded in his castle and wants to avoid the highway running through his domain. He suggests a route along the village center, which would force a number of elderly residents to move. The opposition to the mayor is represented by a merchant from the village, Jan Boel. He uses a woman, the vulgar red-haired vamp Pascale who caused a rift between the two men in their youth, to make the lord of the castle change his mind.
