Silver River plot
"WHERE MEN OF IRON SHOOT IT OUT FOR A CITY OF SILVER"
During the Civil War, Captain Mike McComb is dishonorably discharged from the Confederate army. Mike moves to Nevada and earns his income as a professional gambler. He gets to know the beautiful and feisty Georgia Moore, who owns a silver mine with her husband and mining engineer Stanley. Mike, who has built up an entire gambling empire, falls in love with Georgia. When Mike learns that Stanley is leaving for dangerous Indian territory, because he suspects silver veins there, Mike does not warn Stanley, even though he knows that those Indians have already killed some whites. When they kill Stanley too, Mike takes the opportunity to marry Georgia after all. At a party to mark Mike's new palace, drunk lawyer and ex-boyfriend of Mike, John Plato Beck, tells the truth about Stanley's death.
