Think it's a good 'true' story, maybe 50 his best acting work so far.

I think this movie is a bit underrated because the storyline is good and it remains interesting.

And in addition to 50 acting Mr. Howard & Mr. Akinnuoye also not without merit.

I've seen the film a few times now and I think it's worth it. 4*

Mediocre.

Jackson playing himself in something loosely based on his own origin story, in terms of structure it is indeed a bit like 8 Mile. Only it is all a bit less and neither the film nor Jackson know how to distinguish themselves.

The main problem is that it has become a rather bland gangster film, in which especially Jackson himself does not manage to convince. I usually don't even think he's such a bad actor, it's also a bit strange that he doesn't give up when he is more or less allowed to play himself.

The course of the film is very predictable, it wants to be tough and gritty but it absolutely isn't and two hours is a bit too much, given the simple story that has to be told. It's not really that bad, but it's barely memorable.

2.0*
