Ayahuasca is a South American hallucinogenic drink. The color is brown/red and the taste is very bitter. A nickname is 'La Purga' because the user often vomits and has diarrhea during the intoxication. Some see this as a spiritual and physical cleansing. Ayahuasca means creeper of the soul; other names are Yagé, Hoasca and Caapi. Amazonian Indians have used this drink for centuries in magical-religious rituals. They see the potion as the most important medicine of the jungle.
