September, 1972. Because of peace negotiations in Paris, all bombing by American pilots on strategic targets over North Vietnam is prohibited. It is hard for Jake Grafton to understand this when his copilot Morgan is hit during a routine flight and dies.

Not good. "I can make a Top Gun movie too," Milius must have thought, but he was mistaken. This lame rip-off of the aforementioned film comes up with mediocre special effects, predictable plot twists, and an ultra-patriotic ending. So, it is only half as entertaining.

I hadn't seen Dafoe with a mustache before; it suits him well... but that Brad Johnson is hideous. No idea why he got the lead role. The romantic trifle with Arquette was laughable (blonde single with a kid lusts after military uniforms...).

I do like American films from the 80s and early 90s. It all gets off to a bit of a slow start, but that isn't necessarily a negative thing. It isn't all equally believable, but I could look past that reasonably well. And it is a bigger production than the number of posts here suggests. *3.0
