Rois et Reine plot
The film contains not one, but two stories about the intertwined lives of Ismael (Mathieu Amalric) and Nora (Emmanuelle Devos). Ismael's story is a nightmarish comedy number in variety style. He is taken to a mental institution where he clashes with the headmistress, and his bulging-eyed lawyer (Hippolyte Girardot) loots the asylum and makes the frail, young Arielle (Magali Woch), who has recently attempted suicide, the Council. Nora's story is much darker; she overcame her lover's suicide, raised her son as a single mother, and now alone accompanies her father's death journey.
