The Libyan desert is the setting in which Captain Leith (Burton) and Major Brand (Jürgens) have to steal documents from the hands of the Nazis. But Brand takes a hatred for his officer Leith, because he has had an affair with his wife (Roman).

Two love rivals together in a dangerous mission. Not exactly original, but the film is more than properly developed and the action scenes are believable. Curt Jurgens is excellent in his role and Richard Burton proves that he is at his best when he remains speaking for a long time.
