Nice movie to review.

Remains a very fresh work. A good 7 years after the initial release, Sasanatieng's color palette remains unparalleled. Visually this film is still brilliant, although the CG occasionally shows some technical flaws, it can hardly spoil the fun.

The soundtrack is also very nice, especially the theme song. Definitely not good, but very funny and nicely integrated. Above all, a film that relies on its fresh ideas. Quite fragmentary, but most parts are really great, I don't really find it a problem that everything is loosely connected to the two main characters.

Remains a great comedy with a fairly broad appeal, although you have to be able to handle the rather random and wacky ideas. Anyone who wants a slick story where everything is explained logically and in detail has clearly come to the wrong place.

4.5* and a extensive review

The only part of this movie I've seen so far are fragments from Movie Meter contests of Goldenskull and Onderhond, among others. Because of the funny and especially the special use of color of those fragments, I watched the entire video this morning.

Visually and especially because of the particularly comic scenes, I think this film is a gem that in terms of feel good also reminds me somewhat of that other Japanese gem "The Taste of Tea". For me, this film has to rely mainly on the very beautiful comical and imaginative images such as the helmets that came down from the sky, the huge mountain of plastic bottles towering over Bangkok and especially the cigarette-smoking toy bear. How do you come up with that! And of course not to forget the very fresh acting of the protagonists Pod and especially the very sympathetic-looking Jin.

After all the depressing and hideous arthouse dramas I've seen lately, this excellent feel-good movie comes across as a breath of fresh air to me. That's why I decided to take a closer look at Asian cinema, of which I've seen quite a few gems lately .

Stays fresh!

Reviewed, and also on the second viewing, this still remains a pretty unique fresh video. The film has a very extensive color palette (especially the primary colors are emphatically present) and every shot is really enjoying how the colors form a beautiful whole. Sometimes a contrast and sometimes a perfect match. And that's just the beginning...

Everything really comes to life in this Citizen Dog: index fingers, "voices" in a radio, a dead taxi driver, and last but not least, a chain-smoking teddy bear. The fantasy seems endless, each scene contains a unique foray into Wisit's boundless fantasy; slow-mow scenes in a village, because there is nothing to stay, so time goes slow (genius), his grandmother reincarnating as a gecko, a musical number where suddenly everyone is wearing a blue dress[/spoiler ], it really doesn't stop. Not automatically.

Anyway, all those songs are really great. The Theme song is of course the most fitting, but Wisit really goes all-out here and also implements it in an unprecedented fresh way. Everything to maximize the "fun" of the viewer. No explanation or nothing, just go. Also the reason why I can appreciate Sono so much, although the comparison does of course end there.

Camera work and editing also remain smooth, but it is mainly Wisit's fantasy immersed in a beautiful color palette that makes this such an incredibly fresh film. The film is almost 20 years old, but you hardly notice it. Remains a unique video, and so that top 10 listing will also remain for a while.

5*
