A sober and cool film about the twists and turns of the human brain. The film leaves many questions unanswered, but it was still an enjoyable viewing experience, thanks in part to Roy Dupuis's excellent performance. I would have preferred the film's execution to be different, but perhaps it will be more understandable after a second viewing.

A brilliant film.
The theme is pretty tired (amnesis), but I think this film is almost as brilliant as Memento.
Slow and atmospheric in terms of story pace.
Almost surreal images set in a snowy Quebec.
And although it is not a real thriller, there is still tension in it.
Who was the man who turned off the life support?
What exactly happened as an accident?
How did Alex's father die?
And why are all of Alex's acquaintances and family suddenly acting so strangely?
Or is it Alex's imagination?

A dull, ultimately rather aimless drama with thriller elements about a man (Roy Dupuis) who, after a fatal accident, awakens from a long coma with amnesia and tries to piece together his life. The film starts off intriguingly, and Dupuis is likable in the lead role, but as the film progresses, the script becomes increasingly dull. The design also leaves much to be desired, with characters placed in artificial, empty settings. The atmospheric camerawork is the only positive, but that's mainly due to the beautiful surroundings.
